Thanks alot for the input. I was wondering if it would take to long to chop up a dry bale. Now that it has rained maybe we will have enough hay not to worry about a mixer!
Looking at a used 500 cu foot mixer. Wondering if any body had good or bad feedback. I am thinking of trying to put greenfeed and hay bales through it.
I read on here that someone recommended running the wires through the hose from pump to trough. How does a guy seal the pipe where you put the wires in? Finally got my system going and now can see its a good idea to run the wires in the hose
Great tips guys. Like the 2 pump idea as I could use the system in more places. Would a 85 watt panel be enough to run 2 pumps? RSL was it you that had the stub axle on the side of your bale fork? tried that idea today and it worked great. Bale truck down and painful unrolling with spears.
Been looking into a solar water system. I have found a lot of good info on the board. I think it was RSL that had a good page with lots of info. I can't seem to find it again. Has anyone tried a vane pump for pumping water? Don't need much lift. Just from spring fed dugout to trough.
What would a person have to do to clean out a fuel tank to haul water. Have a chance to purchase an old fuel hauler for a reasonable price and wondered if i could haul water to cows with it.
We have had them in for about 7 years and have lost 1 out of a 140 since then. The rwf cow in pic is the only cow that doesnt have one. Kids cow. We probably have different bush than you but here it doesnt seem to be a problem. Much better retention than ear tags but a big job to put in.
Out of my kitchen window
Eagle is hard on the dog food
Feeding cows in the hills, cow in background at base of spring
Red or black you pick!
Close up of spring
A little more room than a watering bowl
Thanks alot for posting pics again! been using truck to unroll bales but got stuck and came away with no reverse  looks like it stick out about a foot from edge. Does that seem to work good?
Looks like you have a real nice snow cover there. Was it your tractor that had the tire mounted on the side of the bale fork? Was wanting to try that idea. Looked for the pics again but couldnt find them.
