    Filling cake bin with auger

I usually get cake delivered to my overhead bin with a semi that blows the cake in the bin. I can get cake for a fair amount cheaper from a different place, but I would have to auger it in the bin. If it matter I have a 10x71 auger with a swing hopper. Will the augering grind the cake up too...

    Topp Herefords

I bought my first Hereford bulls there last year. I won't have any calves out of them until April, but if the Bulls are as good as his service after the sale I won't be disappointed. He came out and looked at my calves and lined up a buyer for them even though they aren't out of his Bulls...

    Cash cow lease

Anyone straight cash leasing cows? Was thinking about cash leasing cows from a family member in order to phase them out. I would cash rent all there land, and The cow owner would not provide replacements and there would be a predetermined cull rate. Then I would start filling in with my own...

    Cattle oilers fly control

I have heard several reports of LongRange having good fly control. It isn't labeled for flies so the company can't promote it. The reports I have heard are from users of the product, not the promoters.

    F550 vs. Dodge 5500

I would recommend a ford. I have an F450 with a bale bed on it, but it has a 6.4 not the 6.7. For every anti ford story there are just as many anti dodge stories. My dad has a brand new F450 with the 6.7 and he loves it. For those saying a new Ford doesn't have any power reminds me of the...

quiet wean nose flaps- final assessment

I have used them the last 2 years and liked them. My experience was that if you put some distance between the cows and calves everyone stays quiet, but if the cows are allowed to be next to the calves they are the noisy ones that stir he calves up.

    CIDRs and natural service

I had a neighbor that used 1:25 when he did this and got along fine. He fed MGA though. He got 50 percent bred in June the first ten days. Here is one of the articles that says 15 to 25 heifers per bull http://beefrepro.unl.edu/pdfs/naturalservice.pdf
