It’s been a windy spring here so far. And it hasn’t blown in any moisture yet.

My wife and I are getting to an age where we are starting to think about it, even though at 55 years old we still have some time. But the thought of waking up without a ranch is pretty intimidating. May I ask how old you are?

Good luck. I really pushed to lower the insured value of our home, but they refused. Like you we don't believe our house is worth the $950K or whatever they claimed. Shoot, I built the house so have a good idea on that. We also would never build this big again, now that there is just two of us...

Breed up was poor here on second calvers as well. Likely for the same reasons. Always disappointing to lose those. Seems like once you get them into their second calf they tend to stick around.

I bought 5 pairs from a friend’s estate sale for $4,200 back in May. I bought them for posterity but danged if it didn’t end up being profitable.

That’s heartbreaking. We have been waging war on trees on this place since 1952, but we still respect them and reap the benefits of them in the right places.
