Curious as to what type of bull you had on that Longhorn. Possibly Angus? We have bred our Longhorns to an Angus bull for the last couple of years.

I recognize that airplane. That's an Air Tractor made in Olney, TX at http://www.airtractor.com/ My mother and father-in-law have both worked there for years, building crop dusters. Good company to do business with and good place to work.

We received 5.8" this past Sunday. Mid Sept we received right at 6" in a 2 day rain, so we have been pretty blessed in the immediate vicinity. Our tanks are full again, and water was running thru the creeks.

Down here in Texas, hay is high. A lot of people still buy it by the bale, without consideration for the price per ton. 4x4 and 4x5 rounds of other that alfalfa are going anywhere from $85 to $150 each, which can equate up to $400 a ton or more. There's a lot of hay being trucked in because...

Wish our fuel was that cheap...we're paying 40-50 times that much per gal - filled up yesterday for $2.79 gal (diesel)

Judging from the 2 pictues I see, those cattle don't look that bad. Humped up from the cold, yes, but starved to death, no.

That picture was during the spring along a wet weather creek bank. I was trying to get that horse used to going thru some water. In the winter, all the grass around here is dead, except for a little winter grass here and there. Thanks BHB. It has worked out really well for working...
