No rain all summer and now this:

The one bad thing about a Poulan is that once they break, I’ve found it costs more to repair them than buy a new saw. I love Stihl’s and so far I’m happy with the Husky. Other saws do ok but they can’t compare to a quality saw at least to me. I don’t live in big timber country. But I’d bet they...

    Wet small bales-question

Hey guess what? The amazing accurate weather idiots were wrong again!!!!🤬 The 50% chance has turned into 100% and snow after dark. I drove like an insane person to try and get home a little early to attempt to beat the storm. We got 100 bales stacked and then it started pouring. So the other...

    Sunrise I needed

I got a call this morning that a close friend I’ve worked with for years died of covid late last night in Florida. It’s sure been a tough morning. Allen was a fine man and always had an easy grin and a love of life. I’ll miss him. I was hurting and feeling mad. And then I happened to look east...

    Wet small bales-question

I’ve got them in a huge single layer with the wet edge up this morning. I’m amazed at how well they dried today!!!! A 25 mph breeze helped a bunch. Going to stack them tomorrow and see how they do. Thanks for the advice.

    Wet small bales-question

So I bought 200 small bales of oats and new alfalfa today. (Next time I do stupid things like this because I’m notoriously cheap, would one of y’all please hit with a shovel before I close the deal?) Anyway, they were baled right but have been rained on in the field twice. They average 85 pounds...

    Frosted Flakes

Fall has arrived and brung along its slightly colder cousin winter. A balmy 12F here this morning. The mountain has a dusting of snow left from the storm two days ago.

No rain all summer and now this:

Webby I bought me a nice Huskavarna saw last fall and I’m surely happy with it. I don’t have the timber y’all have but it makes great firewood in this juniper and piñon country. I really like Stihl saws but they know what they want for them so I tried Husky’s. (Pardon my spelling please)...

No rain all summer and now this:

We got a quarter inch of rain yesterday that turned into snow early this morning. Ground is white again and it’s laying on the mountain so thick ya can’t see through the clouds. The old desert is muddy

Sorry Nicky. Wish y’all could catch a break. We had four inches but the sun came out and it’s gone. The mountain looks great though. Hope we got six inches up there.

If ya zoom in on picture number six, you can see two buttes in the distance. Those are the Bears Ears.
