    Tribute to a fine mare

Well I’m kinda incredulous to even share this, but Range magazine has asked for permission to publish what I wrote about Reba in their upcoming issue 😳😳😳😳😳 Never did I think that would happen. Really humbled they would want to include my words in that wonderful publication.

    Calving heifers

There is lots of room up there for whatever comes along. That’s the advantage of no brain. It creates a nice empty space.

    Heifer calves

I really need a closer look. Maybe if I was standing there next to ya I’d see they aren’t as good as they look from a computer monitor in Utah. Road trip to BC anyone?

Ranching! Is it a living or a dying?

Amen. Christ GAVE his life. I’d reckon he understands folks with mental health problems who turn to suicide as an answer. His Atonement overcame ALL!!! He will judge us. And He will understand

    Calving heifers

I have been on that side of the fence too. It really sucks when you lose a calf or two and all the profit goes right down the drain

    Survey Takers

I always ask telemarketing folks what time they plan to eat supper and for their home number so I can call them back at that time

Ranching! Is it a living or a dying?

It all comes down to what your pencil tells you. If the return on the lease is enough and you feel the price you will get for the cattle and equipment is agreeable for ya, it’s a decision you may be inclined to make. We all have those choices in life. I wish you well in your adventure

    Calving heifers

After much thought and consternation I came up with a grand plan for efficiently calving all my 1st calf heifers in as short of a time as possible. It required a great deal of research and scientific study. I’ve watched on this very site as you all have worked to shorten your calving seasons and...

    Tribute to a fine mare

It’s one done by a lady in southern Utah called Cowboy stories. Hang on a minute and I’ll post a link. It’s just cowboys and ranchers telling stories about their experiences ranching. The vast majority are top notch.

    Cougar

One less deer/calf eater. We have to have tags for them in Utah unless they are harassing or damaging livestock.

Ranching! Is it a living or a dying?

If you don’t love ranching then it’s definitely not a vocation to get into. Somebody told me a long time ago a person will be happy if they have a job they are good at, they love and they can make money doing it. Two of the three won’t cut it. Some years money is sure tight but I like to think...

I’ve heard a cougar will eat environmentalists. Sure wish you wouldn’t kill a fine animal like that Webfoot!!! 😂

Ranching! Is it a living or a dying?

The best way to make a small fortune ranching is to start with a big one. 😁 Ranching will never die because too many of us are too hard headed to quit while we are ahead. For me it’s the lifestyle. You could offer me all the money in the world to live in a city and I’d say no. I wanna have some...
