    Grazing Fees

    Is a dollar per day,per head,too much for wheat grazing? I can feed protein for about 1/2 that price per day and I have the time to do it.What will it lower my hay consumption with them being on wheat? That's really my question.

    37 days since my last post and still no rain.Nobody has planted Winter wheat here and won't even think about it until there's some measurable rainfall.Usually guys that are going to run cattle on wheat thru the Winter will have it up by now.I'd bet lots of cattle will hit the sale barns around...

    Weather?

    It is very dry here in west central Texas.Been supplementing pasture with hay and cubes for the last 40 days.Has gotten really bad in the last 15.We need a rain :help: .I'm dipping into my Winter feed stockpile now.Looks like I may have to thin my herd :cry2: if some rain doesn't come soon.

    There are 50 cows either pregnant or have calves on the ground.there are 19 calves on ground between 2 weeks old to 4 months old.1 bull.He stays with herd year round.I'm having calves year round.He is very good bull.By a gestation calculator he's getting moms bred again within 30 days of them...
