    Bale grazing

I had never considered bale-grazing over downed corn, but it might work. You would need to start with a swath of the corn and a few bales, then work up from there I'd think. They will walk around a bale to eat corn, in my experience. In 2012-13 I wintered 450 and change on a lot of downed...

    Bale Grazing

Joe, we have 4 of 20 some built that are 7.5 high by 24 long. 2 3/8ths oil pipe frame with 24 gauge, I think, sheeting horizontal. 18 inches underneath gap, then a split between 2 36 inch sheets. 5 ft legs at 90, but made to swivel for transport. We had 2 fold from 45 to flat in a breeze...

    Thought's on a V-10

Next youngest brother has 2 of them. One with a DewEeze he has put a lot of use on. Bought them both on purpose. My nephew just got a new Hydra-Bed set up on his V-10, 02 I think. Bought that on purpose too. I want to know how bad your 460 is, but I'm cheap like that. Love my 94 F-350.

    Dart Gun's

I've made shots in windy conditions that shouldn't have landed, and missed at 15 yards by 3 feet. Exact science would not come to mind. Clean the bore, aim true and hope. 85 percent of first shots right is my ratio. Coming up on 50 attempts. I'm no expert.

    Dart Gun's

In my experience, the darts that bounce off deliver the goods 2/3rds of the time. The others, who knows? Clean the gun will fix that usually.

    Dart Gun's

I've only used one and that uses 22 blanks thru an adapter that converted a .50 cal muzzleloader to fire darts. We use the Pneu-Dart type U darts. Needs cleaned every 5 shots or less but if you can shoot, it's good at 25 yards or better. I can't throw a loop 75 feet. Gets pasture, outside...

    GREAT VIDIEO

Vilified is the word he was searching for. Sounds like he knows what the word on his office door means, at least.

From an old Merriman Monitor newspaper, October 21, 1937

Quite a while after that, we bought 3 nice ranch cows from the dispersal of that McGinley herd in Gordon. I hauled hay off of that ranch in Dec. 01 and Jan 02. I also hauled 40 loads off the heart of the place in August and September of 02, loading right behind the baler. I only spun down...

    Tractor radio problem

30 years ago last winter. He finally retired in March. Services were a couple weeks ago.

    Tractor radio problem

Blankety-blank electronics... I was sorta kidding about the older tractor, they lack some comfort. Glad it worked. I know of one place you folks ranched in NE, you have earned everything that is comfortable, in spades.

    Tractor radio problem

I would guess the book was on auxiliary feed and somehow that function has quieted the normal am or fm output. Pull the fuse or negative battery terminal for 5 minutes? Or trade for an older tractor...

    Plumbing question

Bentonite is the best remedy I know of. Have seen tire tanks sealed with concrete and bentonite, steel discs and bentonite, and just plain bentonite. Silicone used with the steel discs.

    Straws Exploding While Thawing

Thanks for posting that. I have had a few shrapnel wounds from that very thing. When the straw touched the thaw bath and split my thumb nail, it got my attention. Didn't hurt until my hand warmed up.

    Bulls....

Then they start hiding in the trees. We could keep them up for a cycle, and might some year. In a former position, I helped AI 500 ish to a sync protocol. They checked the heifers on round 2. Nice calves, but we have hay to plant on this outfit. I'm pretty sure the collection station cusses...

    Bulls....

Yes, sir; I understand your very efficient AI program, but would you care to get that catch on 500 and change running on well over 5000 acres? We go to big grass next week, as do the bulls.

    Bulls....

Cowman; how many pastures can the little silver jug cover? And how far apart? Probably an apple's and oranges thing, but I'm sure you recognize the necessary evil most of us get to fool with in the spring...

    Hey, hay rakers

I am not familiar with this product, but it merits some research. Should help in rocks, and heavy crops. After looking at the price, teeth better last 3 or 4 years.

    Soap I got a question.

Joe, I just like a twin hydraulic rake better for alfalfa because it's a little gentler and cleaner. The cows don't seem to care either way. Milk cows may think differently.

    Soap I got a question.

An H and S will rake everything from 2 acres to the bale toward 10 or 11 bales an acre. Best rake I have used, except on irrigated alfalfa. The solid wheels are unnecessary, as has been noted.

    Stupid,stupid, stupid heifers

As today's spaying mishap demonstrated. First time I have ever been K O'd. Glad she only weighed 6 and change. They sure can blow back over the gate quick...
