    Olympics!

Oh come on now guys. Do you really think the feds are going to let you guys foot the entire bill that's leftover? I am sure they will spread the misery around the rest of us Canucks. My big question is, which is going to cost more, the '76 games or the '10 games. I hope we get a discount on...

    Impacted Heifer

Ask your vet if he can source 'Cathartic Powder' mix from some manufacturer. It's an old-time assistant for impaction and ailments alike. You mix it with warm water and drench it. Just don't stand behind the animal for the next few hours after you have given it.

splittin hairs... but i can still say

Thanks HH. Seems to be pretty much isolated to the Line 1 Herefords? Just one more reason why I don't care for L1 cattle.

splittin hairs... but i can still say

I was not aware of IE in Horned Herefords. I know the Canadian Association announced this year they were going to start testing for it, along with a few other things. Has the American Association been testing for it? Which lines are carriers? H76 any advice on this? As a separate note, is...

    shaver beef blend

A fella who bought a part of our cowherd 8 years ago has used Shaver bulls on them. I believe Red Poll and Shorthorn are two of the breeds that make up the composite. Would make sense as this fellow has many mottled colour calves that looked like Shorthorns (Off straightbred Hereford cows and...

    Google Earth

I use it quite often to measure out acres and feet for planning fences and building locations. Makes for some pretty accurate mapping, rather than walking around with a surveying wheel, tape measure or pacing it out. :)

    Can You Trust Yota's Fix?

Sure am glad I got a Fix or Repair Daily truck then a little homicidal killing machine car. How you can screw up an accelerator pedal, after all this time, I don't know. But the fact that you can't even blow the brakes out trying to stop it makes me thing something is up in the...

    Nasty Dog.

I would have given him a swift kick with my other heel, and then, when he lets go, turn around and boot him full force again. Those kind of dogs set me off. Either keep your distance and growl or come up for some lovin', nothing in between.[/b]

Come on guys. If you can't figure out I am talking about big purebred outfits and not 4-H or junior shows, then you both are more narrow-minded than I thought!

I wasn't clear in what I meant. What I mean, is this cow, in a natural setting, has the feet of a show animal. Forget the trimming part as that is not what I am referring to at all. I probably hate show animals and the people that raise them more than you do GF.

    Winter grazing-Fraser's

As far as feet, look at the pasterns and cannons. Good feet will present a steeper angle off the cannon and onto the pastern than bad feet will. I will bet money that cow has the natural feet of a show animal, considering her age. I will almost guarantee she has a great udder and perfect...
