Love your daughter's heart. Those momma cows are serious about protecting those babies- they've got the stink eye going on!

    Tears fall

I can sometimes be a bit of a wimp, but... I recently put an ad for farm help (fence work, barn clean up tree work, you name it) pay $10.00 an hour and weekend work required. I got some responses that were a bit well, we won't go there, but I got several from 50+ year old men...

    Our Dream

This sort of thing is becoming very popular. No offense to Ms Stubbs, but I cannot understand how people can ask for money to finance a dream? I know it's old fashioned to work for your money but.... One of the tenets of being a farmer/rancher, is doing it yourself. No help asked none got...

    question for the SHEEP people

They will waste... They will not eat stems, so depending on the stage of alfalfa, you could have a lot of waste. The best way I have learned to reduce waste is feed accordingly- they leave a lot, feed less. Even when fed in hay feeders, when they pull it out it may or may not get eaten. Sheep...

    Working Dogs

I too like the idea of having a few to chose from. My best suggestion would be to find someone with dogs you like, and see them work. There are some very nice Border Collies out your way. The biggest thing is, see the dog work. So many times dogs who are perfect for their owners, are not...

    Working Dogs

I have Border Collies and Kelpies. There is a wide range in ability/talent in both breeds. What I would do is find a male that you *really* like- one that has the grit you need, but is not going to slash and dash and make a mess for you. That is, one with brains too. Where are you located...

I just ain't much on milking beef cows

I think if you are in for a penny, you are in for pound. When you milked that cow, that was the penny/pound. Right now that calf needs you and she is money. I hope she turns the (good) corner.

    Jeep Liberty

I just bought a liberty lattitude and love it. Only thing I don't love is the gas mileage- but I went from a 4 cyl to a 6. Had a Ford Escape which had MAJOR issues at only 47000 miles, and the service dept was so bad, I unloaded it fast. Tons of rebates on them, 100000 mi warranty. Rated to...
