    Pigs can be very dangerous! I would not advise anyone doing what we are doing there, but with my pigs there is no danger. I only buy tiny pigs and raise and train them a certain way. No danger in making "our" cattle pets either. ..or bucking bulls or anything I raise..........except...

    Shouldn't make any difference. I post pics on a lot of message boards and have all kinds of usernames. Works for all of them with the one postimage account. Thanks! My only job is to take care of my animals, so I better do it well... :D . I hate to fire myself... :D

    Thanks! It would be nice to see some pics of those Herefords you're raising up there! I'm still working on getting some Hereford females and another Hereford bull. I'm keeping heifers out of my Brangus bull I'm using now and would like to go back Hereford on them.

    This spot is the first spot I've had farrow. She's doing GREAT! First time mom..couldn't ask her to be better. She's real slow and gentle when she lays down to feed the babies. I got my second spot gilt from a completely different place and when looking at the papers on the way home, noticed...

    Thanks! I about started to plant the gardens the other day with that crazy warm winter weather we just had....this week looks pretty nice too. Seems to drop back to zero degrees though every time I have a sow farrowing... :D .

    I have a video of a guy doing that out west. Real neat! Shows him getting all his mules ready, heading out and dropping the salt off. I like watching it. Funny, I have never seen a single person in a pasture on a horse for any reason in this whole area the whole time I've lived here.

    Thanks, burnt! Sounds like you raised some great pork! I'd love to be giving my pigs milk. Someday. Someday I'll have a milk cow or 2. It most definitely can be lots of work raising and growing your own food. Last year was pretty big, but this year will be a lot bigger and busier. Awesome...

    Thanks, MO_cows! I'm mainly raising registered Berkshire pigs. I do have a couple of registered Spot females also....as in the Spotted Poland China variety that is now just called Spots. The babies up there in these pics are from a reg Berk boar and one of those reg. Spot females.

    I'm not too far south across the line. I'm about 45 or 50 miles south of Lamoni, Iowa. ..between Cameron and Bethany, Mo. ...a little ways west of I-35. We are somewhat close neighbors as far as this ranching board goes.

    Thanks, Big Muddy rancher! Thanks, 3ML&C! Yes, those coyotes are trapped. My first year trapping. I knew nothing of trapping a couple of weeks before season. The coyotes have started using my place more at night instead of during the day like they used to and I haven't been able to pop them...

    a new reg Berkshire boar I just got last Friday...born 8/9/14 He's really tame now and likes tomatoes a new reg Spotted gilt I got last Friday...she's really tame now too. moving 6 1/2 week old reg Berks from my last litter to pasture...I took the littlest one off already from this...
