    Fall colors

We spent ten days chasing mule deer with our muzzleloaders in SE Utah. Had a lot of fun and made some happy memories. The deer won the war and we didn’t bring any home. But we had plenty of opportunities and passed a zillion bucks. Thought I’d share some scenery pics from the Abajo mountains-...

No rain all summer and now this:

Fixing to hammer us as well. Snow was dusting the mountains of central Utah Friday and Saturday. This Tuesday storm will pack a punch. Expecting over a foot in the Uinta mountains and over 6 inches everywhere over 8000 feet. The high here Wednesday is forecast at 41F😳😁

Leanin'H: you probably already knew this

Just came home from ten days right in the heart of the Bear Ears area. To a person, EVERYONE we talked to hate the monument!!!! Every Native American and every local. The Subaru crowd love it though. They need signs to direct them to the pretty sights and they come in hoards to gawk at cliff...

Some cows on a Sunday evening

I took some panels over to my leased pasture this evening to keep the blankety blank bull from rubbing is head on the pipe where the water comes into the trough. Dang bulls are a pain in the hind quarters except to about 45-60 days a year. Bless their hearts. Snapped a few pictures as the sun...

    Spring development

It always amazes me how those little springs come up on the point of a ridge or in a draw. And just like ya said, dry as a bone everywhere else. We’ve developed more than I can count. Without the water, all the grass isn’t worth much.

    Spring development

It’s always a great thing to develop those springs and get them into a trough. Lots of work for sure, but sure worth it. Amazing how much water ya can have available if ya can catch it and have storage for it.

The Final Hat - Wisdom from Soapweed

    Prayers for Soapweed

The measure of any human existence is the hole one leaves after they pass. There is a family in Nebraska missing a husband, father, grandfather and brother. There is a ranching community in the Sandhills missing a neighbor, mentor, friend and peer. And there is more folks than I could ever count...
