    Pictures around here this winter.

    The snow is getting a bit too crusty for the cows to get enough water, so we have been cutting holes in the dam for water. Might need to get an extension on the auger, only have 6 inches left. Some Shorthorn X Red Angus heifers. Got one sale bull kind of "prettied" up.

    Switched pastures

    Last week we moved some cows to a new pasture. The pasture is nice and lush , had to treat 2 cows for Acute Bovine Pulmonary Edema, http://www.thebeefsite.com/diseaseinfo/213/fog-fever . A neighbor took this neat picture.

    Chaff and Heifers

    We have been collecting chaff for quite a few years. It sure seems to help stretch out the hay stack. We use to use a chaff blower and wagon.     Tool from the past

    As I was breaking up some grass today I found this tool that was used by a previous people to help them make a living from the land. I have found a few of these hammer heads over the years , but never one like this, magnetic. Could it be a Meteorite hammerhead?
