I wish I could buy a brand new 1971 Chevy 3/4T 4x4. The one I have was well under $5K new when Dad bought it in the fall of 1970.

Only thing I would like modernized is make the 350 fuel injected instead of the old miserable Quadrajet carb and automatic choke.

Us poor immigrants can only afford real Canadians cast offs. I picked up a '94 GMC 3/4 ton, extended cab 4x4 in late 2000 for $10k and it's been a very good truck - probably taken $3500 in repairs over the years. Up around 330,000kms now and when I read the stories about all the new trucks I'm glad I didn't change it a couple of years ago when I was thinking about doing that.
One thing that puzzles me about all the folks unhappy with modern GM and Ford trucks - why was nobody complaining before the companies financial woes came to light last fall? Seems a bit like the current Angus bashing situation - herd mentality?

Believe me, I raised holy hell over the quality of the Chevy's front suspension, etc....when they redesigned back in '88, and they finally seem to have gotten many of their problems taken care of. If I buy anything that's a disappointment I generally share that info with others.

To solve the tire pressure warning going off if you don't want 80psi in your tires, is take a spare rim and drill holes in the rim to put all the pressure sensors from all four tires and put them in that old rim. Then just air that spare up to 90 psi and your problem is solved. Thats what I did for my dad on his new GM pickup.

All these new dang pickups are so way off priced its stupid. Half the crap that they put in them nobody needs except the stinkin city people which in turn makes them way over priced for everybody else. No wonder all the car makers are going bankrupt.
That's an excellent idea! These remote sensors must all have a battery in them, right? Doesn't that just seem like another problem waiting to happen? If that doesn't fix the problem, maybe they should be placed where they would measure the internal rectum pressure of whoever designed them.

buy a seat belt extender and put it in the latch and that will cut off the bell and then you can put your seatbelt on when you want to, that or go to the junk yard and cut the buckle out of a wrecked one.
Good idea, the junk yard should be full of them in no time.

Talk about no one complaining, my dad was a real Ford man.
He had one of the smaller Fords at one time and it was a lemon.
He couldn't get the problems fixed...was upset with the pickup
and the dealership.

He pulled a float in the Fair parade and the pickup stalled right in
the middle of main street. He got out, kicked the tires and hollered,
"It's a Ford and Ford can't fix it." And he walked off.
