Paid $1.99 per gallon for gasoline last night in Joplin MO. Thank you George W Bush!

Ps. Figured I would thank him since you liberals like to blame him when it was higher. Then it must be him that lowered it for us!

Yes, George, thank you for cheap gas. It's almost as cheap as when you were elected! Thanks for putting so many people out of work that they can't afford to vacation or visit the grandkids. Thanks for causing folks ready to retire to continue working indefinitely because they 401Ks and IRAs are worthless. They'll just have to write off that driving vacation for the next ten years. Thanks for causing the US automaker to almost go extinct as people flock to foreign cars that get better gas mileage. You're a price, George.

hmmm.....amazing ol' GW gets the blame. Who sets emission standards and minimum gas milage standards?? Why do american automakers make millions in their overseas divisions but lose money in the US?? George did you make those people sign those notes on those loans they knew they couldn't afford?? Worthless IRA's and 401-k's?? I think not. Those huge profits (25% and more) people made the last 8 years were GW's fault as well so now you're back to what the value would have been with only a reasonable return. (Go run the numbers). You see those 401's were heavily invested in those instruments and demanded high returns. Only way to get them was to invest in "HIGH RISK" items so fund administrators chose mortgage backed securities....not smart...you can only cook t he books by accrueing interest on a non performing loan so long and then the $hit hits the fan. Sad but true. And don't say you weren't warned. Warning signals have been going off for years but greed won out.

OMG, how stupid is this comment? How Socialistic is it? How ignorant does it show you to be?

American car makers go broke but foreign cars do fine that get better gas mileage? And that is the Presidents fault? How about the American Car makers try producing a car as good as Toyota and Honda, one that gets the mileage and last the way the foreign one does. Heck Toyota's are even higher than American made cars and they still do better! How about the American Car makers be responsible for their own mess!

No wonder you support Marxbama you are the purest of the socialist!

I somewhat disagree with your assessment A+.

The U.S. automakers could not and cannot compete with non-union wages that the foreign automakers had and still have the luxury of using.

Top pay at the local Hyundai plant here tops out at $18 per hour. Detroit workers would turn their noses up at that.

Also there medical expenses are not as high for their employees as they can hire a younger workforce. Also they locate in area that gives them all kinds of state and local tax breaks.

Valid points, but Toyota and Honda are still more expensive than American made cars. People buy them for their quality, resale value and gas mileage even though they are higher in price.

The executives of the American made cars have fallen short in many ways in offering the people what they want! And it had nothing to do with Bush.

Hyundai, Kia and some of them other brands are a little different. But Toyota, Nissan and Honda are just out performing the American cars.

2.59 here guess Missouri people have sucked up to bush more then nebraskans :p

I live in KS, 15 miles from Missouri, and 10 miles from Oklahoma, Joplin MO always has way cheaper gas, especially from Kansas prices. Most of it comes down to taxes Kansas state tax is a lot more than Missouri state tax on gasoline. Funny thing is Missouri has bigger and better Hwy's than Kansas, just another example of how lower taxes increase revenue.

Kansas has high taxes on gasoline and I buy my gas in Missouri, higher taxes are never a good thing! Wish the liberals would realize this!
