Market Review -

This article appeared in the new Allflex brochure distributed through out the United States & Canada . It’s nice when your efforts to add value to customer cattle, makes national news.
With our QSA approved this fall, we expect further increase in the value of source verified and aged cattle. We continue to export more cattle to the Pacific Rim & the European Union on a daily basis. The prices paid for that product continue to be the most lucrative in the entire beef chain. So, we think it is going to very important to EID tag your calves and work with Tina in our office to get the paperwork done properly.
Between May 1st and September 1st, California is one of the very few areas where 600#-700# steers under 12 months of age can be found. That is one of the main reasons we have targeted that market. From here on, everyone who tags & completes the proper paperwork will be eligible, even if you only sell 10 head a year. We can find a place for both large & small producers under this new program. We also think cattle sold under these new programs may no longer be susceptible to market savings created by supply & demand economics. Because there is such a tremendous demand for these cattle, most are forward contracted and the supply is at least three years behind. It’s time to set yourself upon this new program because it’s only going to get better from here on!
