I was looking on the internet for something the last Congress accomplished, since I couldn't think of anything...Below is the legacy Wikpedia gives  Can anyone think of anything they did do :???:

Legacy
The 109th worked the fewest days of any Congress in the 20th century, even working fewer days than the famed "Do Nothing" Congress of the late 1940's.

The Republican-controlled 109th Congress has been branded by congressional scholars as a "Do-Nothing" Congress. The American media used the term to describe the Congress.

Among the 109th's most criticized moments were the filibuster "nuclear option" scare, which mobilized Democratic supporters against the Republican majority, and the Terri Schiavo debate, which angered many constituents.

The 109th Congress also had a great many scandals: Tom DeLay, Bob Ney, Randy "Duke" Cunningham, Mark Foley, and the Jack Abramoff scandal. Lobbying in Congress has since become a topic of debate and discussion because of the scandals in the 109th Congress

I kinda like the idea of a do-nothing Congress. Usually, the more they do, the more it costs us. I think we'd be money ahead just to pay them to stay at home.

Newt was on the O'Reilly Show tonite-- and like he said there are a whole lot of issues that could have been dealt with- and will need to be dealt with- that they did absolutely nothing on... Things like this immigration issue, the problem with rising health care costs & medical malpractice litigation, how to pay for Social Security and Medicare, how to fund healthcare insurance for the millions per year that can no longer afford it, etc. etc... Things that someone MUST deal with....

I finally did think of one thing the Congress accomplished- passed CAFTA, which might be good for their big corporate backers, but will only make the "giant sucking sound" louder for the country as a whole...... :(

does anyone else find a left leaning bias in wikipedia?

If you disagree- challenge it and provide them with your own info for the subject....Except I even heard the 109th called the "do nothing" Congress on FOX News

You were the one that disagreed with it, not me.

I just said I find them (generally) left leaning.

Now, now, let's be fair. They did vote to built a 700 mile fence along a 1,000+ mile border with Mexico. Of course, they didn't fund it. :???:
