As the Obama administration deliberates over whether to allow the Keystone XL pipeline to be built, the proposed pipeline continues to draw broad support from the public. Currently, 61% favor building the pipeline while 27% are opposed. These views have changed little over the past year.

In Obamanation the 27% of environmentalist will have a very large say if you don't think they will just look at what they are doing to the farmers in California over the smelt.

Fuel costs will skyrocket just like the cost of food, but these idiots will keep up their destructive agendas and no matter what some think I seriously doubt Obama will ever approve the pipeline. He turned away from his union buddies over this subject does anyone really believe he is going to go against his greenie friends too? :x There will have to be some very strong pressure from the Dems up for election to get him to approve but I still doubt he will.

Methinks the Nebraska Public Service Commission has to weigh in on this before 'Bagger's Dear Leader decides not to approve it.

And the NPSC never gets in any itching hurry.....

All that money.....and time........lost.........all because of an incompetent
twit. This pipeline was approved by the State department ONCE. Then Obama had to stick his nose in.......

When we were in Nebraska recently we talked with people there about the pipeline and we never talked to one person that didn't want it. They mentioned the aquifer, but were satisfied that the route had been changed as to not bother the aquifer. No one in government listens to the PEOPLE any more.

Our fine town made the news last summer because of the pipeline... I don't watch CBS news- so was unaware this video was made until it started circulating on FB again...
While most locals are like old Mayor Dan and support the pipeline- there were several local FB posters that echoed the ranchers comments.. And even more from folks born and raised here that have moved away- but that do not want to see the pristine feature of our land damaged and fear the pipeline will do it... They definitely don't trust big oil or corporate America...

The network of crude oil pipelines in the U.S. is extensive. There are approximately 55,000 miles of crude oil trunk lines in the U.S. that connect regional markets.

I don't think I would place much stock in any opinion based on the number of Facebook posts.

The rancher in the video is not very bright. His opinion is based on his own personal greed.

Crude oil pipelines are many times more safe than the railway transfer of oil:

I don't know the rancher- but from the look of the surroundings he must live south of the Missouri in McCone County..

As far as Facebook posters at least they have the cajones to put their real name down and stand behind their posts/opinions unlike so many multi IDers that post here and other sites- some that are afraid to even list what country they are from...
Everyone sees things from a different perspective and has a right to their opinion... I may disagree with them- and tell them so-- but I will never challenge their right to think differently..

Thank you again! Having your type hate me is a badge of honor to me... :D

And I grew up in an area and an era where reporting your suspicions/knowledge of criminal activity was not considered "snitching" as you and your buddies imply- but was instead seen as doing your duty as a good citizen...
Maybe one of the reasons these rural areas were able to get along with fewer numbers of law enforcement...We had a caring and responsible public to work with...

In my youth and college time period I was so conservative I could have been called a rightwingernut- definitely an extremist... I was anti anyone different than me... I was involved with jeering the hippy protesters and even around when some of the guys roped and sheared one long hair... I despised gays and was even party to some gay bullying and taunting... I believed everything the radical right told me about blacks being stupid, worthless (incapable of anything but manual labor) and because of their huge penis's wanted to rape all white women... And that all the cost of our welfare and social system was because of Blacks, Indians and Mexicans...
The only night I ever spent in jail was because I and several other cowboys were jeering some long haired hippies in a bar and got in a fight and one signed an assault charge against me... The night court judge reduced it to Disorderly Conduct- fined me $10- and told me to get on down the road to the rodeo we were headed for and "if you get bucked off, remember to land on your head, you'll never get hurt"...

Can anyone but me see the crap in them?

Tell us Oldtimer did you report your personal assault on the long haired hippies or did you just laugh it off and walk away with your bubbies to have another Beer? Did you report your buddies personal assault on the long hair when they roped him and sheared his hair? Was it not your "duty as a good citizen" in the era you grew up in, to report these issues to the police? OR is it the duties of a good citizen to report what we say on the internet, when we say something you don't agree with? :?

You have to remember Tam there are about 45 years, a lot of learning, growing up, and maturing since the time period of those actions...

Did you not learn, and mature as you grew up? Or was you born perfect :???:

You said the era you grew up in, so excuse me if that era supposedly took 45 years and did not include your high school and college years when you attacked the hippies.

And about me Oldtimer I'm not perfect but I would hope that as a young adult my upbringing would have taught me, if I had witnessed somebody being roped and his hair being shear off against his will I would NOT have been a part of it and WOULD HAVE reported it to the police to see to it the poor person that was attacked got justice for the personal attack he was a victim of. But then I did not grow up hating anything that wasn't like me LIKE YOU OPENNLY TOLD US YOU DID .

Since you, Oldtimer told us about how you acted when you were a teenage/college BULLY and how you hated anyone different than you and even though you were raised in an era of reporting illegal activities as it was the DUTIES OF A GOOD CITIZEN, you chose to ignore reporting those you and your buddies were involved in, let me give an example of my, what I would call, Conservative youth.

One Spring night, while I was in High School 12th grade, all my classmates and the classmate of the 11th grade went out for pizza. It was great fun, we had just preformed in the senior class play and were out celebrating how good we had done. When all of a sudden the guys heard there were some guys in town and they decided they were going to lay a lickin' on them and run them out of town. When leaving one of the guys asked my date and me if we were coming. The answer was NO. Care to guess why Oldtimer?

I'll tell you  because first my date and I had no problem with the other kids being in Plentywood. At the time Plentywood was the place to be on Saturday night, for lots of kids it was a happening place.

ANd the other reason was, the guys my male classmates wanted to go beat up were from Canada. They had a problem with Canadians coming down across the border to party in Plentywood. When my date asked one of the smaller guys why he had a problem with Canadians he about ate his own head as my much larger date was a CANADIAN, that most if not all my classmates liked.

Yep if I was the type to fall in with my classmates and disliked anyone different than me, like you Oldtimer, I would have been in the car going out to cheer my classmates on while they were beating the crap out of CANADIANS just because they were CANADIANS and dared to come to the US to party. Instead Oldtimer I was not like them OR YOU, beating up people because they were different as I was on a date with my now husband of nearly 35 years.
