Republican Primary National Poll

Date 6/05
Giul. 23%
Thom. 17%
Romn. 15%
McCain 14%

McCains chances of ever being President are fastly slipping out the door- his support of the immigration bill will be his death....

Democratic Primary: National Poll

Date 6/03
Clinton 34%
Obama 26%
Edwards 15%

Edwards is the one moving up- with polls showing he is leading the Iowa Caucuses

An interesting note is the drop in people that call themselves "Republicans"-

2008-- 30.8%
2004-- 37.7%

Call themselves "Democrats"

2008-- 36.3%
2006-- 38%

This may be the reason both parties are losing backing:

Poll: 56% Believe Most Congressmen Willing to Sell Their Vote
Friday, June 08, 2007

Fifty-six percent (56%) of Americans believe that most members of Congress are willing to sell their vote for either cash or a campaign contribution. That view is held by 60% of Republicans, 49% of Democrats, and 59% of those not affiliated with either major party. From a generational perspective, those over 65 are a bit more trusting than younger adults, but even 41% of the nation’s senior citizens believe most Congressman are willing to sell their vote.

Something I found on the web today- that I had never thought of...Came about because of the cancer death of Senator Thomas (R-WY).....Could be interesting how this issue comes to play.....

In addition, having a senator die from cancer will remind people that cancer is no laughing matter. It will also bring up the subject that Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) has had three bouts with malignant melanoma, former senator Fred Thompson has incurable non-Hodgkins lymphoma, and former mayor Rudy Giuliani had prostate cancer. With any of these three candidates, the Democrats will keep quiet but organizations like moveon.org will keep bringing up the nightmare scenario of a President badly worn out by chemotherapy but refusing to turn the reins over the the Veep.

Heard on the radio that Obama actually passed Clinton on a recent poll by one point. Do not know the source of the poll.

If Obama does start doing better in the polls than Hiltlery she is going to have to bring out the claws, it could get very interesting.
