Surprisingly lean for NWSS show cattle. Nice to see some variation to work with. I was a bit surprised by some of the IMF numbers, but realize a few of the cattle are younger, and the BF is not through the roof.

That is what the tech said. He has scanned our Galloways @ the NWSS for a few years now. He was surprised at the marbling, with little to no cover, and absolutely no excess. That is what we Galloway breeders have said all along. Galloways marble, with out putting on the wasted backfat that gets trimmed off.
Many of these "show" cattle were fed only a couple pounds of grain if any. Our cattle were fed up to around 10 lbs of a 14% creep feed type mix (high roughage) and alfalfa hay. The winner is a 3/4 blood Galloway, 1/4 Angus ( Elixar X Yukon) breeding.
