I had heard about this on the readio but only heard the tail end.. I heard 2 dead include the gunman instead of 22.. Very, very sad... Prayers with the families.

Like you IL, I had only heard of the two fatalities on the radio, until I read RR's message.

This is sad and horrible. My thoughts and prayers are with those who lost family and friends, and the entire Virginia Tech campus and community.

TTB :(

Thenly thing even resembling motive was that the shooter might have been looking for a gfriend but I only heard that once and seemed to be dismissed later.. Pretty scary stuff, I remember the school shootings a few years back, Colombine, Jonesboro and the other ones.. I can't say I can remember another one at a college except Texas belltower and the one in Canada just recently.. At least, I think I remember one just recently in Canada.

Shooter now believed to be a Chinese National that has been in the country for about a year on a student Visa....No "known" connection to any terrorist groups....

Can anyone remember the book " The Manchurian Candidate ".... :???:

I was told by some students from Virgina Tech/friends of students at VT that this is the killer's web blog. No way to be sure, but sure looks like it. Lots of pictures of guns and automatic weapons. Definitely gun-crazy with no real purpose. Talks about love and death and such, so seems like the real deal.

This has now been added to the website- so the info is apparently wrong and this apparently ain't the shooter......

16 April 2007 @ 10:29 pm

Coming out. I am not the shooter. Through this experience, I have received numerous death threats, slanderous accusations, and my phone is out of charge from the barrage of calls. Local police have been notified of the situation.

My original intention was to wait until I got AdSense on my site and donating all the proceeds to Charity. However, this situation has now spiraled out of control. I am now confirming that I am not the shooter. I will be available for interview by a news agency to clear my name, talk about the experience, and give my opinion on how the situation could have turned out better if other students were allowed to be armed. I will only speak with individuals who are interested in donating to charities resulting from today's events. Please e-mail all correspondence to [email protected]

After you study over that website- if this guy isn't involved, I can sure see why students would have thought so.. Gun and death fixations combined usually don't add up to anything good...

wierd....

Where did Reader2's son go to school at....anyone remember????

My kids are both out of school but of course tons of their friends went and some still go to VA Tech. I called my son and he called his close friend who was okay -- studies engineering so he could have been in that building. My daughter called her friend too and she hadn't even made it into campus.

We're all very upset here in VA, glued to the television. Many of my friends' and colleagues' friend go to VTech.

Reader...I'm happy your children weren't directly involved :) I also can imagine its so very hearbreaking to be a resident as it breaks my heart to watch the broadcasts, thoughts and prayers to you and your residents, from Canada

Now the ChiTrib has updated to add: “Cho also died with the words ‘Ismail Ax’ in red ink on the inside of one of his arms.”
