Just a few reminders that it is a great day!
First I caught K 16 ( far right ) standing with 2 of her daughters, 2 of her grand daughters and her smokey bull born in Dec ( she had a hiefer in Jan so I got 2 calves out of her in one year )
K 17 and K 18 are half sisters of K 16 All born in 2004
K 18 decided to strike a pose for me.
K 04 is the oldest cow in the herd purchased as a 5 year old in 2003 two sets of twins over the years and raised all her calves.
Water in the creeks has never frozen this year and just a few skims on the ponds. This is how I have the creek fitted in several places so that my Grand children can cross with the golf cart.
The cows are in a 22 acre woods and the grass has started to grow enough that they have slowed way down on the hay. Sure has been an unusuall winter! +27F right now but has been in the 50s all week and forcast +60F by midweek!
