3 bred Heifers

Here are 3 of our bred heifers. The black one we raised, and if anyone remembers she is the muscular one from 2 summers ago. The reds we bought from a friend as open heifers. The 3 red cows in the background are all rising 3 year olds.

They look to be fine heifers but a little light on flesh.I've been pouring the feed to mine to flesh them up a bit more before winter really sets in.I seen some like that sell on monday they weighed 818#s and brought $625 not a very good price I thought. But enough for what they were.

They are in pretty good condition, I would say a 5-6 out of 10. I don't need them to be any fatter, and at the cost of grain they will have to make it without. These ones were weighing between 950 and 1150 lbs when we weighed them at the end of Sept.

Good, plain-Jane old money-makin' ranch cows. Thanks for posting. The only thing I think they're lacking is some hair, which the right Galloway bull could take care of easily enough.

Thank you, that pretty much describes them. Today, I'm thinkin' that they may just be wanting some of that Galloway hair  We're -18, it's snowing and the wind is right up there. I think they may just hide in the trees for most of the day
