3rd party candidate

Ron Paul is a long ways from being over as the republican candidate- but what if he did run as a 3rd party candidate, wouldn't he also be taking some votes from anti-war dems that are mad at obama- some of obama's youth vote- there are lots of dems that feel their party has left them too, that are eager for someone else. why are all the predictions gloomy?

I think you are right but he would hurt the Republicans even more. Now if he could indicate his running mate, possibly a more moderate running mate, he might just go somewhere. JMO

Lonecowboy- what do you think of this Gary Johnson that is now saying he is dropping out as a Repub and running for the Libertarian nomination?

He definitely stands for the old libertarian (used to be the old Republican) beliefs- fiscal conservative, believes government should stay out of social/personal issues (bedrooms and Drs. offices), and believes in states rights and a more limited federal government ..

Johnson holds fiscally conservative, socially liberal libertarian views, and a philosophy of limited government.

He and Paul on the same ticket could wick away a lot of votes- but give almost no chance they could win...

It would be a guaranteed obama win, if the 2 of them ran on the same ticket, as independents......


stay the course and allow the Tea Party to remove the RINOS that have infiltrated the Republican Party.

The Tea Party candidates are fiscally conservative and believe in small Government, where the "big federal government" remains removed from the Doctor's office and the bedrooms.

If you want "boob implants" or an abortion, the Tea Party believes you should pay for them, not have the taxpayer subsidize them. If you want to get married to the same sex, then the Tea Party believes that the Federal Government should not legislate that Churches have to perform the ceremony, or the taxpayer has to pay for tax breaks, if you choose to do so.......
