Looks like we are in for a weather pattern change- and at least for a short period get a taste of winter...Moisture will be welcome- even if it is a skiff of snow since Sept was the 3rd driest in history with only .02 of moisture... 1899 had 0- and 1943 had .01..
They are predicting the mountains could get 6-8 inches of snow...

We lost all the tomatoes last night, and are still sitting at less then 3 inches of moisture for the year. Still have a bit of green coming some how, so life is good!! :D :D

No snow yet, touch wood, but we haven't had a morning without hard frost for 3 weeks. This morning was -10 C.

Just turned on Calgary news, snowing like crazy there tonight. Who would want to live in a place like that? :p

I can't believe we had snow before Gcreek. Maybe the weather is askew. The moisture is welcome though.

the "experts" say the rain will start this afternoon and switch to snow overnight. we'll sure take the moisture in which ever form it would like to come.

Woke up to a beautiful dreary drizzly day...Almost a 1/4 inch in the rain gauge so far (a fellow who neighbors our north pasture said he got about 1/2 inch there so far)--- and still drizzling along with shower after shower moving thru... :D :D
40 degrees here so no snow- but I guess over toward the mountains (from Bozeman to Babb) they are picking up some...

Accuweather came out with its long range forecast today- with lower than normal snowfall predicted for the plains- which could be both good and bad...

Take heart per, you might have beat Gcreek to snow in October but he beat you in June, July, August and September.

I was sitting here, trying my best to remember when it used to snow and rain, but i can't really wrap my brain around the concept. Would any of you like to expound on this phenominom for those of us that can't grasp what ya are talking about? :? We are dipping down below freezing at night but the stars are sure bright which means there aint any clouds. I am pretty sure clouds are needed for the other stuff to happen but, like i said, i forgot. :D

Glad somebody is getting moisture! :D :D :D Send her this way when ya have plenty.

It has been raining and snowing here since I got up this morning. First moisture we have had for a LONG, LONG time. Temperature is dropping
and it is a bit breezy, but not bad. The snow was coming down hard enough that it was sticking, but now it has let up and what is on the ground
is melting. I think I mentioned before that one of my favorite things is
melting snow. :p Means we have moisture, the storm is over and
it is warming up. In this case it isn't warming up yet, but the ground is
still warm.

Anyhow, I hope others are getting this. H' if there is any left, I'll try to
send it to you. I hear ya on not being able to remember what moisture is.
Our windshield wiper blades have rotted away from lack of use---  :p

Woke up to rain and snow squalls... As the sun came up the whole ground was white.... Showers all morning- but the temp is up to 42 now and the snow has disappeared...

The local weatherman was reminding everyone that this is the date on which in 2005 we got several inchs of snow-- and Glendive and the Interstate area received over a foot and the highways in that area were all closed....
