T99 bet you never thoughta simple question like you asked could go so WRONG.
All I know is Soapweeds son hit a bale in the middle of a trail because the sun was glaring off the plexiglass wind shield on his Ranger. Put a head right thru it. I know i have rode mine on a few days I wish i had a cab and heater but it would feel confining.
My computer crashed, and it is hard to navigate with this borrowed laptop model. I miss my little pet mouse.
Back to the question at hand. There were three boys on the Ranger when it hit the hay bale. The dirty windshield and the sun being in the driver's eyes were definitely factors in the wreck. All three boys hit their noggins pretty hard, and the windshield got broken in the process.
We really like a windshield, roof, and back window on the Polaris Ranger in the cooler months of the year. In the heat of the summer, I like either having it completely open topped, or just the roof with no front window or back window. It does not work well to have just the windshield because the dirt and dust swirls back in so bad. It is the same with a windshield and roof, without the back window. As far as doors on this "cab," I see no reason for having them. If I want doors, I would also want a heater and radio, in which case a person had just as well be driving a pickup to start with.
As far as having any type of cab on a traditional type ATV, I wouldn't want it. Like the others have said, in case of a tip-over, a person would want to be able to jump free.
