4-wheeler question

Does anybody have an enclosure on their 4-wheeler? I'm looking at them online, sometimes they're referred to as cabs or cabins,,, they attach to the front and back racks. I'm thinking about getting one but I'm also wondering if they block your view to a point that they're dangerous or cumbersome.

only "enclosure" I've ever seen for a 4 wheeler was a deer blind that you put up when ya get to w here ever you want to hunt. A man that usta come in our office designed and is marketing it. He's disabled, that's where his idea came from. For those that can't climb up in a deer stand.

But other than that, no I've never seen an enclosure that mounts and you drive it with it on there.

I've seen a lot of them online but I can't say I've seen one in person either. They look like they'd be nice in the wind but I wonder about the blind spots. A wet snow might not be so good either,,,, no wipers.

an enclosure will obstruct some of your view. on anything you put it on. just a fact.

now if I were going to eclose an ATV, I would do it on a mule or similar type machine that has a built in rollguard.
on a regular old four wheeler, there is NO WAY that I want something to hinder me getting off the damned thing if it starts to go over.

I keep a sprayer on mine all summer, and there are times I get nervous and ride side saddle, just incase there is a fast getaway needed.

well, I did not want to brag and say that something gets in the way of turning.....

I hope to mount a tripod on the front rack....then everything will have a place!

T99 bet you never thoughta simple question like you asked could go so WRONG.

All I know is Soapweeds son hit a bale in the middle of a trail because the sun was glaring off the plexiglass wind shield on his Ranger. Put a head right thru it. I know i have rode mine on a few days I wish i had a cab and heater but it would feel confining.

My computer crashed, and it is hard to navigate with this borrowed laptop model. I miss my little pet mouse.

Back to the question at hand. There were three boys on the Ranger when it hit the hay bale. The dirty windshield and the sun being in the driver's eyes were definitely factors in the wreck. All three boys hit their noggins pretty hard, and the windshield got broken in the process.

We really like a windshield, roof, and back window on the Polaris Ranger in the cooler months of the year. In the heat of the summer, I like either having it completely open topped, or just the roof with no front window or back window. It does not work well to have just the windshield because the dirt and dust swirls back in so bad. It is the same with a windshield and roof, without the back window. As far as doors on this "cab," I see no reason for having them. If I want doors, I would also want a heater and radio, in which case a person had just as well be driving a pickup to start with.

As far as having any type of cab on a traditional type ATV, I wouldn't want it. Like the others have said, in case of a tip-over, a person would want to be able to jump free.

Thanks everybody! You're right BMR, I never dreamed this subject could get so hicjacked but you all did help me make up my mind. While protection from the elements would sure be nice some days, it isn't worth a serious injury (or worse).
