400 miles Lost!!!!!

Our neighbors had a chain on the back of their old W-W. They were going down the road empty one day and didn't do it up. It swung out and took the side window out of my wife's mini van. Scared her to death. Glass was sprayed all over the inside. Lucky no kids were traveling with her that day.

I agree with Denny. I have a chain on the back of my old King trailer because the design on the doors is terrible. I am going to change it out for a newer better latch just haven't done it yet.

Well I almost got as lost as that truck driver today...Went to Houlds bull sale in Malta on Friday afternoon and then continued on down to Roundup where I spent the night-- with plans to run over to the Whitney Creek Bull Sale this morning--which is 14 miles west of Rapelje...

Now the map shows a part paved-part gravel road between Ryegate and Rapelje-- which is the quickest way to come from the north...They told me this was kind of primitive road--but it turned out to be a one lane mountain trail- that I had to put the outfit in 4 wheel to climb the washboardy mountain.....Glad I didn't take a trailer...

After the sale I decided to go back another route-- but rather than driving all the way into Billings decided to drive cross country to Broadview and hit the highway into Lavina and back to Roundup...After what seemed like being lost for ages- I finally found Broadview....

I came to one conclusion-- there is no easy way to get into Rapelje Montana from the north--unless you parachute....

And in my experience, the "loster" I get, the faster I go. :-)

OT did you have a topo map? Love that thing. I can go anywhere and only get lost for about 15 minutes. That's normal for me anywhere I go that is new.
Wish I had known you were going that way, would have told you to wave to my sisters house as you went by. :D

Nope-- It was laying at home in my office  Yep-- it would have helped a lot, but I forgot it-- but a couple of nice folks kept telling me I was on the right road- so I made it...Got to see some new country...

Your sisters in that big Hoot colony down there south of Ryegate :???:

No she lives in Rapelje. Her husband teaches school in Ryegate.

She can deliver my bulls and heifer(s) I bought in the spring to the hiline- and then just head over and visit you....

Does your brother in law drive that road between Rapelje and Ryegate every day :???: That thing must get treacherous in the winter time or when its wet....

I was down at Double Forks Red Angus sale a few years back-we had some time to kill so we stopped in at Heather Smith Thomas's. She has lots of troubles because she really lives with her cows-alot of the stuff would cure itsself but she likes a more hands on approach than most. Andrea hadn't been hurt then-she got badly burnt in a fire a couple years later. It was an interesting evening to say the least-the way Andrea shot pool in the Salmon bar I think she got out a bit more than Heather did. I think she'd only been to town about once in the last two months lol.
