This folks, is what fire ants do when it rains this much. They get flooded out of the ground, so they make these huge wads and float along till they hit higher ground I guess. This is what makes it bad if you were to get into flood waters. The fire ants will eat you up!!!!

Not a cow in site anywhere.....I'm sure they are on the backside of the place....somewhere either in the trees...or on a hill. Horses were up by the corrals....all happily munchin away on green grass.

How come those ants don't just drown??? Maybe they'll float on down to the next county! lol I remember seeing pictures of your floods before, and then the next photo's will be of you haying in grass as tall as the tractor! We're getting some nice rain today, and the weather channel has promised us sunshine next week! And then maybe, just maybe....we'll begin to see a flower or two around here...lol

That's incredible, your soil must have alot of clay?

We can get like that also, and all we got is a never ending supply of sugar sand.

Sure could use a bit of rain also, we're real dry also. Hope you all dry out soon, flooding and standing water can wear folks out after a bit.

We have clay...but it's 2 and 3 feet down to it in most places. Sand on top.

We have sugar sand here at the house....sure does soak up the water in a hurry.

Believe it or not...most of the water is already gone today...other than a few real low lyin areas, and of course the creeks are all runnin. But it's not outta banks like it was yesterday.

Add 2 1/2 to that and you will have more than we have gotten since the first of the year.

Then double that and you got more than we have since May 15, 2008.
