Thats the temp in my house as we speak I left at 7 am filled the outdoor stove and it did'nt light. The Queen works nights got home went to bed woke up about an hour ago and I get a phone call it was 57 in the house when she called. She had to go to town to donate blood. I bet it's melting the bag she was a bit hot on the phone. :) women oh well back to the farm.

It's almost that warm outside, here, today. The thermometer right now reads 55.6 degrees, with an 8.5 mph breeze. All I know is that it's a beautiful day, even though it's the shortest day of the year. :)

Hope you got your stove lighted correctly this time.

-18 this morning and got up to balmy 4 above, but there is snow on the ground and the promise of more to come. Maybe even a true white Christmas this year.

When my power came back on between 3 and 3:30 this morning, IIRC, my thermostat was like 55 or 56, darn cold I know that. I think the furnace ran non stop for an hour after the power came back on

Dipped to 9 below last night with 11 beautiful inches of snow. :D Makes me happier than a hound-dog in a hubcap factory! :D :D :D Our snow station on the mountain says 21 inches of snow up there in the foothills. Yipeeeeee!

0 F, breezy, and fine snow in the air. We got 2 inches yesterday.

Cows are fine and full and the world didn't end yet.

Will that snow normally stay in the high country all winter?

Yes sir it will. On a normal year, we still have snow on the top of the mountain til early June. Now last year, what little got there was gone pretty quick cause the wind wore it out and the temps were higher than normal too. Hopefully this will be a shade better than normal to catch us back up toward where we need to be. So far, so GREAT! :D

Our furnace went defunct during last night. The problem was a faulty igniter (as in a mechanical apparatus, not someone having trouble with matches). Peach is a good mechanic, and after making a parts run to town, she was able to get everything working right once again. :)

Good thing you folks got the heaters working because there is some cold air affixing to move in... 5 degrees here now at 7:30-- supposed to be down to about 5 Below tonight-- but then the next few nights could hit 10-20 Below with highs around 0 for Christmas....

I see they are predicting Big Muddy's area could get up to 4-6 inches of snow in the next couple of days...

Worked straight thru lunch so I could come in the house (about 2:00PM) and get some work done on the computer - - - Went to wash my hands, no water!!!!

247V at the pressure switch, 247V at the pit less adapter - - - off to get a new Meyers pump $228.47 and pull the old one, plumb it up down the well - - - no water.

Pull it back out and find a blown part in the insulation on one wire, splice kit and back in the well.

Water looks like orange paint for about 30 minutes then clear so I turned the house back on.

I guess I have a spare pump now!

Now to work late into the night to get the paper work caught up!!!

On the good side I got it all done before the wife got home so I avoided a big hissy fit!

Old Man Winter is really moving in from the north tonight...12 Below already with a predicted 20 Below... Some areas along the border are already showing 20 Below or near readings....

And the 10-15 mph East wind makes it plumb nasty out there..
