I guess If you were one of the ones whose insurance premiums went to over $1200 a month and you couldn't change policies due to a pre-existing condition you would be singing a different tune. But until then you will continue to sound like the selfish self-centered individual that you are.
I went a lot of years with out insurance and never once did I complain about it. When I grew up and matured and I then got responsible and went out and took care of my problem.
I have no problem with helping those that have Insurance problems, but leave the 83% alone. In the end it would be cheaper and hurt less people to just open up the Medicaid requirements some and take in more people, those that have pre existing conditions or can not afford Insurance.
Problem solved! Just lower the requirements for Medicaid, Tort reform and allow anyone that wants to to buy into the already existing government policy, and do do away with State boundaries and life is good!
But liberals do not want to solve the problem they want to gain control!
That actually was discussed-and was in Obama's original plan-but Republicans screamed about it as being a move toward more socialized medicine...The reason they decided to offer a public insurance "option" instead for those folks- and to give the insurance monopoly some competition....
Interestingly its sounding more and more like the Republicans working on the bipartisan bill are backing the insurance companies plan- mandating everyone to have insurance (government subsidies pay for those that can't pay- or under a certain income rate)- and requiring the insurance companies to insure ALL- and not be able to refuse anyone or drop anyone....
A WIN-WIN for the insurance companies as they get many more folks paying in (or the government/taxpayer paying in for those that can't)- and it still leaves them free run to set whatever profit margin they want- and keep raising rates to meet that profit margin....
