when the bastards attacked us on 9/11 I was going to Husker Harvest Days with a neighbor.... it was a weird day, no one looked at equipment, they all huddled around the various tents that had a tv set up... on the way home the oil terminal near Hastings had 40 trucks lined up to load out fuel.... a weird feeling just hung over everything...

now we have chose Wednesday to go to this years HHD, and I just looked at the calendar and noticed it is again on 9/11..... I am not superstitious, but with all the BS going on these days, I really hope it is an uneventful day....

I had made it into town just in time to meet the bus bringing the youngest home from preschool. The lady who walked with him to the door asked me if I had been watching TV or had the radio on. I said no, and she told me maybe I should turn the TV on. My first thought was WTF, but then it dawned.on me that she had a weird vibe, and that I had picked up a weird vibe driving through town.

Flipped the tube on, and Shepard Smith soon told me what the weird vibe was all about. My aunt's funeral was the next day, and the vibe was felt all the way from home to Washington, Kansas. Barely any traffic on 36.

HHD is code for Jigs. It really means "I'll be maxing out my credit card at Dr. John's!" Are the shakers gonna be headquartered at Alda this year, Jiggsy? ;)

We felt it up here also ... spent a good portion of the day watching TV broadcasts in disbelief!!

The Passionate Eye featured a documentary of it last night - still a chilling feeling -- those that were lost and the horror they and their families dealt with.

it was a day I will never forget.. Thankfully my little brother made it to work that day... had he been a few minutes late he would have been in the subway station underneath the world trade centers..

it was a long day waiting to hear from him.. cells towers were not working in the city and he was locked down at work..

I have been to the towers many times before.. and since..

and at times it is still hard to take in the loss of lives.. 2977
At least 200 people fell or jumped to their deaths from the burning towers

After New York, New Jersey lost the most state citizens

More than 90 countries lost citizens in the attacks on the World Trade Center

(41%) of the victims remained unidentified.

when you add in all the military,.. friends and families of those lost.. the toll in suffering from their senseless acts is incalculable.

to think Obama sided with them in Libya, and now Syria is enough to make my blood boil...

our country was forever changed on that day.. the rights and freedom we lost since would have been unheard of and never accepted before this atrocity.,...

any feeling of disbelief I had on that day is now filled with anger and outrage..
