3" of snow on the top of the fenceposts. I think I might have seen that ONCE before. :)

And STILL no wind.

Good moisture though.

Basically nothing here, Tap. Our daughter in Wyoming called last night
and it was snowing there then.

Snow on the fence posts makes quite a sight. We saw it happen in
W. Montana.

Once in Wyoming we had a wet snow and then the wind came up.
We had a big hay meadow close to the house. The next morning
we had HUGE SNOWBALLS where the wind had got the snow going
and rolled it up until it got too heavy to move. I never took a picture
of it. Didn't realize it was a once-in-a-lifetime happening. Sure kick
myself about that. Sure looked funny; all those balls of snow laying
everywhere. Trails in the snow led up to every one of course and
they were pretty big.

Looked like God had a lot of fun that night!!!

When I worked for Imig's in Nebraska, I worked with a guy from S.D. One day he asked me if snow really did pile up on things the way you see it in calender pictures

This is what it looked like out our bay window this morning. 5" of very welcome snow, and no wind either. Good start to a day!

That's funny- I never realized snow piled on top of objects was unusual because around here it usually looks like that due to little wind- reminds me of loaves of bread. Bigggggggg loaves of bread.

WE are getting rain right now... Buckets of it... The ditches are fulled up on the sides of the roads and their is sheet water in the fields right now... Supposed to switch to snow tongight.. Getting us a good soil charger today... Not looking forward to the slush that will start falling soon... 1-2 inches of that is forcasted but they also only forcasted 1/4 inch of rain and we are at 1.5 inches...

Snow piles here when it is wet snow but if it a dry snow it will blow because of the wind. Around Chicago all it ever did was pile.. Nothing like it when you have one of those very rare 20 inchers..

FH-> I have seen what you are talking about on a much smaller scale.. The snow balls that resulted were only the size of maybe golf balls, maybe a bit bigger, maybe smaller. We didn't have a lot of snow when it happened, How big were these that you are talking about? W had it pil up in Bozeman on Christmas Eve of 1996... up in the hils, under the bridgers, we had just shy of three feet if I remember correct.. It piled up good, lol.. If it had blown that night we might enver have gotten out....

Rain is so bad I don't have an internet connection anymore, satelite must be being disturbed. going to have to walk away for a few until it settles down because I am not retyping this.
