A bit of history on the last cavalry charge

My Dad used to talk about all the horses that were still used in WWII-I saw a pic of a Polish calvary charge even as late as that. Corb Lund's song about the calvary definately gets the imagination going.

On the day the Japs bombed Pearl Harbor- Grandpa was in Missouri delivering several railcar loads of horses to the Army- altho most those were to be used as draft/artillary carriage and pack animals...
My one uncle served in a ranger unit in both the Philippines and Malaysia during WWII, where they used both horses and mules for pack animals...
