Green Bullets

Enviromoonbattery has become so ubiquitous, even bullets have to be "green":

The [New York] state Department of Environmental Conservation is reducing its negative impact on the environment by giving up lead-based bullets for firearms training in favor of less harmful "green" ammunition, Commissioner Alexander "Pete" Grannis announced today.
"Green" bullets are of course more expensive, but…

the state could save money in the long run by eliminating an environmental and public-health hazard and by preventing the potential need for lead removal at firing ranges
.

Even if that doesn't balance the books, taxes won't have to be raised by much.

Sometimes you can still hope that the whole environmental hysteria phenomenon is intended as a joke.

Maybe you should try to learn something about firing range management and lead mitigation before laughing at this.

I thought you conservatives knew all about guns?

I have two firing ranges within 5 miles and know both of the administrators as well. One is for the City Police and one for the County Sherrif Deputies. On occasions I shoot at both.

There is no lead mitigation problems at either for the pistol ranges.....they use bullet traps.................

Are there mitigation problems in the numerous indoor ranges?

But, Mike, that's in Alabama, where you can still buy lead-filled teething rings for Baby Bubba down at the five and dime.

During the last year I worked for the feds, I know we got a bunch of material about lead exposure on ranges, most of it was aimed at FTOs - mostly about airborne particles.

I never got too excited about it. Maybe they are being overcautious.

Bullet traps work to get the big chunks, but you really should stop licking them clean after you collect the slugs.

We lick them constantly to bring ourselves down to the level of the Moonbats.............

The pistol ranges here are monitored weekly by the Dept of Enviro Management.
No problems yet with particulates. Airborne or otherwise.

I still say it's OVERHYPE and ridiculous to require green bullets.

Maybe there are really alchemists out there?

A racist?

A stereotyper?

Let me try my hand at standard wingnut-style rebuttal:

-How dare you. I have some friends that are ALABAMANIANS and they send me jokes about other ALABAMANIANS all the time.

-The reason I didn't vote for Cletus Eugene Chambliss III has nothing to do with the fact that he is a slack-jawed, toothless, unreconstructed redneck. I didn't vote for him because I don't like his POLICIES. What's so hard about that to understand? He's an anarcho-syndicalist who wasn't even really born in the U.S.

-I once read an article from an ALABAMANIAN criticizing other ALABAMANIANS and calling them ignorant, lazy, white, trailer trash. I will find it on the internet and post it here and say "See, even THEY think this about themselves".

-The only reason Cletus Eugene Chambliss III was elected is because all the rednecks and cousin-lovers voted for him. There is no other possible reason a thinking person would vote for Cletus Eugene Chambliss III.

-I don't hate ALABAMANIANS. I give money to my church and they send missionaries to Alabama to try to help the ignorant bastards learn how to be civilized and get their big fat butts off of welfare.

-Now that Cletus Eugene Chambliss III is president, he's not going to do anything but pay back the ALABAMANIANS for their support. He's going to oppress the rest of us and send us to FEMA re-education camps.

-Lead Poisoning isn't even real. There was one science-guy from somewhere who said it was a farce. Al Gore's movie "The Inconvenient Paintchip" is just liberal hysteria designed to make him money.

(How did I do?)

You are obviously going to need more experience at this sort of thing before you go broadcasting out in the mainstream.

I agree he wasn't mean-spirited enough and didn't have the angry white boy act of being utlra arrogant and condescending mastered yet.

Deer hunting in a liberal world;
1)Turn in your now illegal semi-auto rifle.

2)Go through the myriad of background checks so that you can get a license that allows you buy a gun (only 1, mind you) You don't NEED more than one

3) Go to the store to buy some green bullets that have been bar coded with your information on them.

4) Get informed that you can only buy .22 bullets because anything over that caliber is classified as "armor piercing" and is illegal.

5) Read the hunting guide to learn that a .22 is too small to use on a deer.

6) Go home and put your gear away as it is impossible to legally hunt deer now.

7) Replace the candles in your personal Obama shrine.
