I just got some new pictures loaded into PhotoBucket, so thought I'd share them with ya'll.

Here's some of the rangeland down by where I grew up.........the grass is half way up on the fence post......

Here's Al, the other day, after we got the trophy some of our neighbors, made for him, for getting Grand Champion Heifer at our Fair the end of August.......they felt badly that the Heifer didn't get nearly the perks that the steers did. After all, where do you get steers from? :? Since I had to go over to Reserve anyway, we stopped by the Fair Grounds, and I took some pics of him in front of the "sign".......

Here's a close-up of the trophy and his ribbon......they did a nice job on it, even put his brand on her! :D

Nice Trophy they made for him, and I agree, not as much hoopla over the heifers at the fair as the steers. The only heifer show there is at our county fair is the Pen of 3 commercial heifers. Which Lil Lilly has done for the last two years. Upside to it all, we aint spendin no where near what them folks buyin them high dollar steers are spendin. She's actually learnin management, feedin, and endin up makin a decent profit in the end. Alot of those that raise the steers can't say that. Plus she starts out with 5 heifers, shows 3 and the 2 that are left over are hers to add to her herd.

In our fair, the breeding class was dropping off, so a bunch got together
and solicited donations for the Beef Breeding Class. It has really
picked up interest. We're getting quite a few entries now. Turned into
a great thing for the kids!

They have a Heifer Class, a Yearling Class, and a Cow/Calf class.
The money raised has made some nice premiums and it wasn't a bit
hard to get donors.
