Of ME!!

Here's pretty much how things go around here for the winter. It was only -26 C out there this morning

Watering the smaller heifer calves...

Checking out the feed bunk. These are our replacements. They aren't quite out of feed yet, but I guess I need to fork some down.

A good cow dog, knows his job. Keeps their heads out of my way til I'm done

Got 'er all forked up, yum-yum!!

But they stay back as long as Kit's there.

xy_DSC01354.jpg

Looks like a busy day :D . I really like your dog. It's invaluable when they can keep the cows away. My older dog "Ed" has always done this for me, but is getting a little old. The two girl dogs never have wanted to do that job, so I'm really going to be lost when he can't do it anymore.

Your cows look really good. You're taking great care of them! :D Stay warm!

Thanks, Denny. So far I'm liking it pretty good. Just have to make 1 trip over instead of 2-3 hauling bales. Cows don't seem to be real impressed though, I'm not sure what their problem is, or maybe its just that they are actually staying full, and just happy wandering around when not eating??

WR, he's an awesome dog, about 5 years old now, so pretty much in his prime. But, I've started looking for another dog, one that might learn something from Kit before he gets too old. Not an easy job though.

I like that feeding setup. Are those REAL panels for the calves?

Yes, they are real :???: . But some of them had to be modified because they were built for smaller calves than what our replacements are. We had calves getting their heads stuck on a regular basis.
