2 mm that's not much to brag about

When you haven't had any since May 2.5 inches is very thankful. Some areas around us had up to 5 inches and none run off either. I thought I hear the ground burp to.

First time I ever heard that!! Made me giggle.

Glad you got some rain. I'd take 2.5" any day!

I've never seen pecans forming either. Thanks for the
pictures!! (and I'm gonna guess the grass is a type of
fescue...)

I will give you a hint. It doesn't grow North of the Red River of Texas very much. Maybe a little in OK.

Well that Northern Guy ahh err aaa Gal sure had me tricked!

I'll sure rejoice with ya', Trinity. Nothin' beats the feeling of a good, meaningful rain after a long drought. Lets hope it broke, and more is on the way.

Well, with a name like faster horses, I can see that one could get
confused.

You are forgiven.

We have a friend who trains horses at Aubrey, Texas and he
always brags about how much he likes the Bermuda grass hay.
Otherwise, I would not have known.

No those are natives. I harvest them in the fall. I have the tree shaker, picker, and cleaner. It's pretty fun picking them and don't let any little animals get caught in the trees when I shake them. You will laugh your head off if their is any animals in the trees.     They bring a pretty good price to, one year I got dollar per lb. The most I have ever pick was 17,000 lb. Thats a lot of nuts. My parents use to run the equipment my dad harvested over 32,000. Thats a great harvest. :D

We had a couple nice nice pecan trees in our backyard growin up. Every year....it was us kids job to go out and pick up pecans. I hated doin that. Almost as bad as I hated pickin grapes off the two grape vines we had that grew up in the pecan trees.

Loved the jelly, and all the goodies we made outta pecans. But I don't miss pickin em up.

I sure wish hog pecans were worth eatin. We have an abundance of them on the creeks.
