Who needs Abramoff? Excerpts; link below; my emphasis. LMAO :D

"A Louisiana congressman demanded bribes in exchange for his help in promoting a pair of business deals in Africa, according to court documents filed Wednesday with a guilty plea by one of the congressman’s former staffers."

"Brett Pfeffer, 37, a former legislative director to Rep. William Jefferson, D-La., pleaded guilty to aiding and abetting bribery of a public official and conspiracy. He could get 20 years in prison when sentenced March 31."

"A spokeswoman for Jefferson declined to comment."

"Specifically, Pfeffer said in federal court that a congressman demanded bribes in exchange for his assistance in brokering two African telecom deals."

"Court documents did not identify the congressman by name, referring to him only as “Representative A.” But the documents make clear that Jefferson is the congressman."

Maybe Dis can explain away John Kerry's $98,550 in donations...... from Abramoff?

or this
Sen. John Kerry accepted laundered contributions for his 1996 re-election campaign from the Communist Chinese government and that, in exchange, he may have arranged meetings between Chinese aerospace executives and U.S. government officials.

Obtained from the FBI through Freedom of Information Act and Privacy Act requests, the documents are related to the FBI’s “Chinagate” investigation into the Clinton campaign’s acceptance of contributions from Communist Chinese government sources.

1. Your Judicial Watch link discusses the investigation of Chung; it says nothing about John Kerry taking money from Abramoff. Want to try again?

2. Fact: there's no link to this claim about Dems taking XX dollars or who they took it from. I've yet to see any proof that Dems took money from Abramoff. If you've got it, post it. Otherwise we'll all know you're just making stuff up again.

Democrats move to divest Abramoff-related gifts
By JENNIFER McKEE
Gazette State Bureau

HELENA - Sen. Max Baucus, D-Mont., and the Montana Democratic Party announced Monday they are giving away nearly $24,000 in donations received from associates and clients of indicted lobbyist Jack Abramoff.

The announcement came four days after Montana's Republican Sen. Conrad Burns announced he was returning nearly $150,000 in donations from Abramoff, his co-workers and clients.

Burns initially had refused to return the money.

Center of probe

Abramoff is at the center of an ongoing Justice Department probe examining whether the former lobbyist, who is under indictment for fraud in an unrelated matter, sought political influence through donations. Burns is among four lawmakers caught up in the investigation.

Neither Baucus nor the Montana Democratic Party has been mentioned as a subject of the investigation.

Spokesmen for Baucus and for the state Democrats said Friday they needed to analyze and verify the donations before deciding if they should give the money to charity.

Baucus is giving $18,891.92 in Abramoff-related donations dating back to 2001 to Montana's seven tribal colleges, spokesman Barrett Kaiser said. Each school will receive a check for $2,698.85.

Kaiser said the senator decided against returning the money directly to the tribe or person who initially gave it.

"Max felt as though Montana's seven tribal colleges can use these dollars," Kaiser said.

The money includes a previously undisclosed donation of $1,891 for a 2001 Baucus fundraiser at Abramoff's skybox at the MCI Center in Washington, D.C. Kaiser said the senator would make note of the payment in his December campaign finance records.

No dealings

Neither Baucus nor his staff had ever had any dealings with Abramoff, Kaiser said.

"As a matter of principle, Max thinks this is the right thing to do," he said.

The Montana Democratic Party will give its $5,000 donation from an Abramoff tribal client to an American Indian charity in Montana, Executive Director Jim Farrell said. The party received the donation in 2002.

"We think the $5,000 is better spent with native charities here in Montana," Farrell said.

Farrell said his group has no ties to Abramoff, but decided to give away all Abramoff-related money because it "doesn't want money from associates of an indicted crook like Jack Abramoff."

Chuck Denowh, executive director of the Montana Republican Party, said the group has never received any donations from Abramoff or his clients.

Rep. Denny Rehberg, R-Mont., on Friday gave back $19,900 in his Abramoff-related donations. Rehberg returned all of it to the original donor except a sum donated directly by Abramoff himself and his co-workers. That money was given to domestic violence shelters on two of Montana's reservations.

Rehberg is also not linked to the Abramoff probe.

Nothing here shows Sen Baucus, D-Mont, took money from Jack Abramoff. His associates and clients, yes. Abramoff was "associated" with most of Washington, DC. It's entirely legal to take money from a lobbyist. The problem comes with what you do in return. (my emphasis in your quote)

When tallied, Senate Democrats and their national committees
accepted $3.1 million from Abramoff, his associates and clients,
compared with $4.3 million in contributions to Republicans. So,
the statement that this is exclusively a “Republican scandal” is
simply not true.

Not to pick party sides-- but--The comedy of this whole thing is the fact Conrad Burns received money from the Indians and then donated back to the Indians...He is known on the reservations as about the most anti-Indian, anti-Reservation legislators' there is- even introduced legislation to try and take away the "sovereign nation" status that the Supreme Court gave the rez's years ago.....

Then to have him go out and support a huge funding grant for a reservation- one not in his state- one that is one of the wealthiest in the country... :???:  No wonder it raised red flags...

And now he is put in a position where he has to give it back-- to the Indians.....Looks like another smokescreen......

I was listening to a Nexium ad and was appalled. It claims to heal the lining of the esophagus.

actually it is a good drug.....and had my wife been "informed" of it's great healing properties "before she struggled with cancer", she might not have actually had to deal with the cancer......

She is and will be taking nexium,(or it's replacement) for the rest of her life.

so with every good we must be more ethical with the responsibility....

Most Americans see term limits as the answer......

and then make them get SS instead of thier pension plan,

and Medicare instead of thier medical plan,....

in other words make them live by the rules they make........

the Chinese goverment giving Kerry a bribe was just another example of how the Democrats are as dirty , if not worse.....

it's one thing to sell out to the native American tribes. it's another to sell out our country to China........

So what did China get in return?

ROTFLMAO! Nothing, nothing, here says these Dems took money from Jack Abramoff. "Abramoff, his associates and clients" is the spin Republicans are trying to put on this scandal. So show me where any of these people took money from Abramoff, not his "associates and clients." Maybe they did, but you haven't put any proof out here yet. Newsmax.

As for Kerry, from your own comment "in Abramoff-linked cash." Not "took money from Abramoff" but: "in Abramoff-linked cash." Spin all day, but you still don't have anything showing Kerry took money from Abramoff.
