Like a lot of folks in this state, I have a job. I work, they pay me.

I pay my taxes and the government distributes my taxes as it sees fit.

In order to get that paycheck, I am required to pass a random urine test with which I have no problem. What I do have a problem with is the distribution of my taxes to people who don't have to pass a urine test. Shouldn't one have to pass a
urine test to get a welfare check because I have to pass one to earn it for them??

Please understand, I have no problem with helping people get back on their
feet. I do on the other hand have a problem with helping someone
sitting on
their ass, doing drugs, while I work... Can you imagine how much money the
state would save if people had to pass a urine test to get a public assistance check ???

I absolutly agree with having to pass a drug test but I doubt they would save any money because the way the goverment runs things it would cost 9.4 billion to run the program.

How about our elected officials having to pass a breathalyzer before they vote on any legislation- unfortunately deadbeats and the less fortunate haven't quite cornered the market yet on substance abuse. One of the newest cottage industries in the oilpatch is selling clean pee for guys to pass tests with who says the spirit of entrepeneurship isn't alive and well.

If they do this than they would also be asking for a lot of urine from the folks inrolled in other government programs, be they welfare, grants or USDA government payments.. Heck, don't stop there fo it for disaster relief too.. I wouldn't mind personally if I hadto pee in a cup once or twice a year, I have nothing to hid except for an addiction to donoughts and Coca Cola but I imagine soe of my neighbors who get some good money in LDP's, CCP, and DCP would be a litle on the "Oh crap"side if this was the case...

It is an invasion of privacy? Yeah, in some ways it is but you would have the right to say no thanks to the money(Or the job in the private sector) and than not have to take the test.. My only concern would be 1) false positives and 2) what would be the next thing they start testing for.
