we finally branded the first bunch about two weeks ago...we needed to get these branded so they could get headed north to summer grass.

Justin those are great pictures! :D Looks like ya had a pretty handy crew to get the calves worked. My little girl was impressed with all the young ladies dragging calves and on the ground too! Glad to see all went well! :wink:

i appreciate the offer, but no thanks... :wink: i haven't checked the rain gauge this morning but i'll bet we are getting close to 2 inches. so no snow is neccessary right now, but thanks anyways.

Is that ol' longhorn cow a favorite from your roping days?

you make it sound like my roping days are over :???: i have 8 longhorn cows so we have a few roping critters around. of all the cows on this place, that particular LH cow is probably one of our favorites. she is the lead cow of the entire bunch. when its time to move, she is the first to hear my voice, first at the gate and will lead the rest of the cows anywhere at a nice walk and always seems to know exactly where we are going. shes almost like having another person horseback. she is getting some age on her now, but still looks like a young cow, hopefully she'll be around for sereral more years.
