Justin I like your helper :)

The first pic I just said holy crap, I would not like that either . We had a problem at the dairy one very long cold winter we had elk getting into our silage pit all the time, it was a real pita as they tore the plastic to smithereens . The joke around was to get the elk near our place as they were "finished".

Cattle look great though , stay warm..

That first picture reminded me of a carnival shooting gallery. :D
Haven't you got any meat hungry Natives close that can thin them out a little?

Ya also need some of Ned's whiteface bulls around. How do ya tell that many straight blacks apart when the eartags disappear? :p

Your cattle and operation look first rate Justin. Stay warm and safe.

My hereford bulls are a lot closer!!!!

way to sneak in a sales pitch  :D i have been giving the hereford bull idea some serious consideration the last year or so. my thoughts were to breed 80-100 of the straight black angus cows to hereford bulls and see how we get along. i haven't ruled out the possibility yet :?

H and I will be right over to fix the deer problem! We've been thinking about breeding to a Hereford bull too. You go first and let us know how it works out.

I'd give it a shot justin. first year we tried herefordbulls the baldie steers avg 72 pounds heavier than the black steers, then you could have some nice baldie heifers .

I've never shot a deer off the top of a haystack before! Now I gotta add that to my list! Great pictures! Calves are spectacular. Some white faces would be fun to see too. Let me know how it goes.

Thanks for the pictures, Justin. The cattle look great, and the cowdog is to be commended for looking like it stays out of trouble.

H-i got a deal for ya...would you be intersted in trading a hunt for a mulie buck in the desert for a mulie doe hunt in the hay corral

You've got a nice outfit there Justin and the cattle look good too.
Too bad those calves had this weather before you sold them.

You'd like some BB calves, I'm thinkin'. They sure are well
received, and press the scale in the right direction. You are limited
with the BB cow, tho. (Now let the pot-shots begin)...it's only
my OPINION, folks!!!!!

No potshots FH, a two breed cross works well. In the case of Angus and Hereford, the solid cows go with Hereford bulls and the brockles and baldies go with the Angus.

An old neighbor here who was one of the best stockmen I have personally known ran a two breed cross of HH and Simmental. Another neighbor asked how he kept it straight. He replied, " Scientifically, the big ears go to HH and the little ears go the other way."
He sold one of the most uniform sets of calves year after year.
