A Few Heifer Pics

Took advantage of the nice weather today (near 40) and ran out with the 4 wheeler to wander thru and look at the cows-- and took the camera to take some pictures...Quit early when I found I'd lost "Grandmas New Camera" thru a hole in the pocket of my old carhart coat    Luckily I found it quickly- nothing had stepped on it- and its OK...But I had to take it in to dry it off and it ended my picture taking- but I did get a couple of some of the heifers...

Someone on the Advantage Cattle site was asking about Mytty In Focus...Heres a picture of the In Focus daughter my son bought-- #15840504 mgs Tehama Lite 561..
Definitely a deep thick heifer- which I think will end up being about a 5 frame cow...

Heres the WCR Floret 749T heifer (#15802668 Cole Creek Track Hunter 60R- mgs Basin Max 104J)...She's doing good and I'm pretty sure she's going to make about a 4 frame cow....

Heres a Cole Creek Goldmere 31N heifer( # 15822851 mgs CH Quantum 6247)...

These and the other 13 heifers I have calving this spring were AIed to N Bar Prime Time D806- and clean up by the Legacy and Bannon bulls....
Except I'm not sure I even want to think of calving the way this weather has been- even tho its over 2 months away....

Yep, those should make nice cows :D . It may be my computer monitor, but it almost looks like the fancy heifer in the first picture is getting a little better hay :D

I think its just the way I lightened and darkened the pictures...The sun was shining so bright off the snow that without some adjusting the cows all looked like black blobs...The first picture is about the right color- as it is some really good grass/alfalfa hay.....

I looked hard at a mytty in focus bred bull last spring. He has some epds that intrigue me with marbling and gain. She looks like a deep, pretty heifer. Hope she works well for ya!

Ya I wasn't too sure of this heifer when he got her as I hadn't seen any In Focus calves altho I'd heard he sired thick heavier bodied calves- and she's a little more "high perfomance" than I prefer...But she's sure looking deep and thick like I like them- so I hope she'll work out to make a good momma...
She's dog gentle- and comes from a herd that culls deeply on fertility and disposition....Anything that hasn't calved by their bull sale date the 1st week of April gets sold...And the fella we got them from ended up getting his leg broke last year when he tried to break up 2 bulls fighting and the one took him or kicked him or something-- He sold the bull...

Have to say OT, the In Focus heifer is the only one I like.

Yep she is the nicest looking- but I have to put a caveat here, as the others were raised a little differently as calves...Where the In Focus comes from a place that lots and feeds/grains their calves in the winter after weaning-- the other two both were left to just graze out all winter with a little hay, if needed (the same as my home raised)...
From prior experience with them- they won't start getting their looks until another year....
