you are getting tricky, Soap. you didn't include the date in your post heading, like you normally do  . i didn' know what part of the country i was going to visit. all still looks good in your neck of the woods. i like the black, blue and green pic. at least around here, its hard to get all three in the same pic in late july. i enjoyed the pics :D

Soapweed didn't you have a mishap with another tractor door winter before last?

Yes, that happened on a cold day. Some bolts broke in the middle of the tractor, which allowed the top of the hood to bang up against the front windshield. The glass shattered quite rapidly. The door that broke a couple days ago happened while the tractor was parked out in the hayfield, during the night or day when we got an inch and two tenths of rain. I am wondering if the other incident possibly caused stress to this glass also, but it took this long to break. I don't think it it was vandalism, as our hayfield is quite a ways out in the boonies.

Is that lake natural or man made?

My dad broke the window out of his tractor last year mowing pasture. He said it sounded like gun went off when the stick hit it. Those windows can be a little costly with green paint on it.

It sure is pretty up there.

Even with orange paint, it is $878.

I called my insurance company to see if, by chance, it was covered. It wasn't :( , but even had it been, there would be a $500 deductible on the deal. She did say that a person can insure glass only, on three tractors, for just $25 per year. Then if a window broke, there wouldn't even be a deductible to have to pay. I am thinking seriously about getting this add-on to our ranch policy.

The lake is natural. It is just below the level of the water table, and has no inlet or outlet. The water has enough alkalinity that it doesn't seem to have any fish. It does work good for playing on with boats and jet skis, when there is time.

Great pictures, your country looks good.
I had to replace a side window in the tractor I pull the swing tongue mower conditioner with when it through a rock into it. The sound of one of those windows breaking will definatly get your attention when it happens at the end of a long day.

nice pics. the haying rig is pretty neat. We have busted a few windows, the last time was when a silage truck backed up through the rear window of my packing tractor. A lot more than glass ended up in my shorts that day...
