A few photos of a good bull calf and his dam

We weaned the spring calving cows yesterday and I snapped a photo of this guy. I think he is pretty darn good. He is a son of Six Mile Sakic 832S and of the cow in the photo. His actual weight yesterday after hauling him 30 miles and about 2 hours after we took him away from his dam was 770 lbs. He was born mid February. Here are his numbers for all you number guys.

.7
40
66
17
37

Here are a few different angles of him

Here is his dam. It isn't a very good photo, but it does show her depth of body.

Did you get a weight on the dam too BRG? that would sure be interesting.

No we didn't. The scale is at home, while the cows and calves were 30 miles away. We hauled the calves to the scale.

All I can say is she is a pretty moderate framed cow, with all kinds of body mass.

Really?? Who said that?? I musta missed that one....

You'll find it on advantage cattle forum and somewhere on CT. To be more precise, the theory is that extremely low BW's AND high Milk (like 31+) is the primary cause of FB in Angus. I'm still trying to find supporting data on the theory.

The sire of BRG's bull shows as BW +1.7 WW +52 YW +76 Milk +22 TM +48

He's got one nice bull calf there, for sure!!

Well, let's see, 1/2 interest in Sakic 832S sold for $36k. Hmmm. Just don't tell BRG about this. Maybe I can just trade him a few round bales
