went out on a drive this evening...thought I would share a little

and here is what I did today. this is an alfalfa field i am pulling out and planting to Eastern Gamma Grass. the 40 acre field will be split into 4 paddocks, and there is 30 acres of creek bottom that will be split in half also. I will put 60 pairs on this next year. if it works like i think it should, I am planning on doing it to a 1/4 section that is pivot irrigated....150 cows on a 1/4 !!!

That storm was a rough deal on your area Jigs. Is it still early enough to replant for another wheat crop?

Your cattle weathered ok, they look fine and fit. :)

Ouch! That was a painful storm. Hopefully it is early enough that everything will bounce back, and the summer will still be very productive.

Only a farmer or rancher can so quickly adapt to their situtations. I really hope that the grass grows well and you can run cows on that quarter sooner than expected. I guess when life hands you lemon you get to making lemonade.

the wheat is done. seed dealers are scrambling to find sts seed for people to go into the wheat ground. I am just gonna go with something to feed the cows
