Heres the website of a former southerner- that decided to retire in the north country- and that in between fishing and making traditional Indian bows and arrows, which he has used for bringing down several deer with- plus some great diamond willow canes-- is great help working cows and at brandings....I got him started on making the neckerchief slides which I was just making plain- and he decided to engrave-- and now have to fight him for deer antlers

A southerner that retired in the snowy north  :? .

Actually he and his wife spent much of their life in Louisiana and Texas- and after coming up here- love it here...He told me today- he already has next years wood supply laid in-loves the hunting and fishing (where you can get almost unlimited deer licenses now as a resident)- and only goes back south once and awhile to visit kids/grandkids....We have many retired military that have moved here just for the wide open spaces- year around hunting and fishing (Fort Peck Lake, Nelson Reservoir, Milk and Missouri Rivers and numerous smaller reservoirs)- along with the much cheaper housing/land prices....

I think you had better quit thinking.

Perhaps you've never been to Toad River, Muncho Lake, or the Yukon

No but i have been told to go to Tuk U.

Something about the north, My sister in law and her family moved to Alaska 30 years ago and just love it. They are now because of elderly parents starting to spend time back south. I'm a bit of a stick in the mud when it comes to traveling. I like right where I'm at . Guess I don't have much of a sense of adventure. :)
