Last weekend, Saturday I think, we had some great rim ice (kind of like hoar but not the same) because we were having these crazy foggy nights and than the fog droplets froze on everything. It was generally cloudy when this happened, and kind of foggy but the sun would come out for about 10-20 minutes before it would melt away.. It is truely beautiful when it does happen, as our the ice incapsaled branches from freezing rain.. Pain in the butt sometimes but lovely just the same... Nice pictures OT.

Oh those are so pretty with all that frost...We had the fog the other day, but still haven't had the pretty blue skies and sunshine that really show off the frost like yours did. I luv em!

Listend to an Ag show out of Chicago yesterday while I was running around like a chicken with its head cut off. Said the long term forcast for our area was warm and wet for the next two weeks and than the jet streams are suppossed to get closer together so we will get the wet from the south with the cold from the north... I believe that equals snow.. I want the cold, tired of the rain and mud, would love to see this ground freeze hard again.. Dang road comissioner is complaining that I am getting mud on his roads  Whatever.

We didn't get the fog or the snow you did, OT. Neat pictures.
The Great Painter seems to always provide some beauty even in
the winter.

We just have about an inch or so of snow.

IL Rancher, those guys are merely guessing when they forcast the
weather two weeks ahead. And I got that from John Palasky, our
main meterologist here in Montana. He doesn't beat around the bush
much. I do hope you get the weather you want.

Our forcast for the coming week is a high of 39 on Tuesday and
the mid 30's for the rest of the time. We'll take it. :p January is usually
our coldest month. Get by it and the rest seems not so bad, to
me anyway.

Yep- a lot of the long range forecasting is a SWAG (Scientific Wild A**ed Guess) on whether the weather pattern will stay the same or not...I hope the odds are with them and they have it right for January as they are predicting a warmer than normal January with the big amounts of moisture going down Haymakers way....El Nino effect....

Shortterm says we should warm up in the 30's to low 40's by midweek :D and that the first two weeks of January will be relatively nice :D :D...

Like FH says-- every nice day makes winter just a little shorter...

I'm a pessimist I guess.. Every warm day in December and Januaray means it has to make up in the cold department in April. It is actually not the temps tat are getting me it is all the rain we are getting. Yikes, I drove over the Illinois yesterday to go look at an Ethanol plant under construction (Mother in law was visiting my wife so I made scarce) and it is really flooded down there. Oh well, I would just rather have the 35 for a high and 20 for a low to make the ground nice and hard.
