A good question from a registered Dem

"Why would you guys try to stuff a health care bill down our throat in 3-4 weeks, when the President took six months to pick what he wanted for a dog for his kids?

Maybe some of the Dems here can answer this one?

A good question. I would venture it's because he believes he has the mandate and support of the people now on the heels of a very successful election, and it's an uphill battle even in the best of times as Clinton discovered.

The people supported him because they thought the "change" he blathered about constantly was going to be about accountability, transparancy, and an end to partisan politics. Now that he's shown that was all BS rhetoric to get elected, you can see what is happening to his numbers.

If he believes he has the mandate from the public, why the tactics designed to shut the public up?

Well, if he's actually naive enough to believe that he still has a mandate, I question whether or not he is really intelligent enough to be President. He squandered his mandate months ago with excessive spending. And now his chickens are coming home to roost. That's pretty evident to everyone now. Including he and his lackeys, I'm sure. That's why his tone is changing and he is no longer so interested in grassroots community involvement.

I don't think he was ever truly interested. It was just a step in the ladder rung for him.

As far as intelligence goes, check out that childish stunt in the Airforce One buzzing.
