"How long does it take to build a saddle?"

I know that's kind of an open Question. Lets say:
It's a stamped Saddle
The builder knows what he's doing.
Anyone have an idea?

a friend of mine in ID says 8 days, if he has all the material at hand. The reason for that many days, he said is some of the parts are wetted and stretched to fit where they go, ie: cantle, swells, horn etc. He builds beautiful good working saddles. Now for reality, I waited 4 yrs and 3 months for a fella down here to build one for me. NEVER I repeat NEVER give a saddle maker an advance on the $$$. I will buy one off the shelf before I go thru that again. Actually I would deal with the fella in ID first.

My custom saddle was built in 14 days. Probably wouldn't have taken that long if it didn't take me a day or more to figure out what tooling I wanted on it.
