I guess this whole thread started because of me so before it goes any further let me clear up a couple things so we can base this debate on some facts instead of speculations.
First, it was not just a head ache it was a Serious Migraine something that until you have one you should not judge. As I see nothing funny about having to be isolated from family members in a dark quiet room, being pumped full of fluid to keep you from dehydrating because you feel a need to through up with every spasm of your brain.
Migraines are the primary example of vascular headaches, which are classified as headaches caused by an abnormal reaction of the cerebral arteries (the arteries that provide blood supply to one's head). There are three stages in the classic form of migraine:
The aura
The headache
The post-headache stage
The aura stage of a migraine headache consists of neurological symptoms that last anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes. They usually include numbness, visual disturbances, dizziness, ringing in the ear and or weakness on one side of the body.
The headache phase may be limited to one-half of the head, but can spread to the other side; nausea, sensitivity to light, diarrhea, vomiting, excessive perspiration and or chills often accompany the headache phase. This phase can last from hours to days, and the person affected often looks ill.
During the post-headache stage, the skull on the affected side remains tender and the person may feel physically exhausted
Migraine is a complex disorder involving the brain and the blood vessels around the brain and head. The brain may become hyperactive in response to certain environmental triggers, such as light or smells, for reasons that are not known. This starts a series of chemical changes that irritate the pain sensing nerves around the head and cause blood vessels to expand and leak chemicals which further irritate the nerves.

Symptoms and Complications of Migraine
Migraine headaches are more severe and last longer than regular "tension" headaches. The pain is more localized, often concentrated over one eye. Severe headaches that affect only one side of the head are generally due to migraines. Migraine headaches are often associated with nausea and vomiting as well as hypersensitivity to light and noise. The headaches are often made worse by movement or bending over. As a result, migraine sufferers tend to lie still in a dark, quiet room and avoid any type of stimulation.
About 1 in 5 migraine sufferer experiences an "aura" just before the headache comes on. Auras are visual effects that can include flashes of light, lines with vivid colours, or double vision. Occasionally patients may feel weak or slur their words. These symptoms usually disappear after 15 to 30 minutes, only to be replaced by crushing pain and, in some cases, severe nausea.
Now that we are all on the same page of why I was hospitalized.
Second I would like to know where our resident expert on everything doing with
my healthcare got the idea I was in a US hospital? :?
When the facts are I have
not been admitted to a US hospital in at least 15 years. Therefore I have had nothing to do with the destroying of the US Medical system. That my guess is being done by the foreigners coming across the southern border that Obama and the Dems don't seem to think are a big threat to the US.
In the last 15 years I have been admitted three times due to emergencies
in Canada.
Third, I have in the past voiced my concerns about our healthcare system BUT while doing that I have also said there are parts that are not bad. Mine and a whole lot of others main concerns are waiting lists where people risk further illness due to delays in medical attention. The reason for waiting lists are Rationing ie $$$$$ and a Lack of Healthcare providers. The Doctors we do have are over worked and often result in wait times to see them at their offices, which results in more and more showing up at hospital emergency rooms where it cost a lot of $$$$$ to treat hangnails and sniffles, which leads to more rationing due to $$$$$.
The one thing about all medical systems, Canada's included is when you go to the emergency you get treated. That is why people that can and should wait for treatment show up there verses waiting for a doctors office scheduled appointment.
Fourth, Since BMR contacted the hospital and asked what he should do with me as he was concerned about my weakened conditions and was advised to bring me 90 miles to the emergency as they felt it was a true emergency and even commented the next day about how lucky I was that BMR brought me in when he did, Why would I not access the healthcare system that I have been paying for EVERY TIME I PAY MY TAXES?
Fifth just so Jingo can stop worrying I pay for healthcare insurance to cover me if I were to ever in need of emergency care in the US. So I doubt even if I had been admitted in a US hospital where I have family working I would DESTROY THE WHOLE US HEALTHCARE SYSTEM
